Frequently asked questions:

(AKA "all the questions you thought of but were afraid to ask")

Q:  Is that you on the cover of Lust for Danger?

A:  Uh, no.  That is a computer-generated person.  And I would never wear pink lipstick.

Q:  Are those grenades live?

A:  No, but it will still hurt if I throw one at you.

Q:  Why do you use your initials as your pen name?

A:  Because no one can ever get my name right.

Q:  What are the most common questions you get at booksignings?

A:  Where is the bathroom?  And where are the Harry Potter books?  The bathrooms are near the food court, and I believe Harry Potter is in children’s.

Q:  What are your favorite books?

A:  The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde; The Hound of the Baskervilles, by Arthur Conan Doyle; and The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexander Dumas.  And I always enjoy a good thesaurus.

Q:  What are your favorite television shows?

A:  CSI and South Park.  I also watch COPS for research purposes.  If you yell at the television, it helps the police officers.

Q:  What is your favorite sport?

A:  Hockey.  I used to play goalie, and was the first woman to play in the men’s league where I used to live.  And, by the way, when you watch professional hockey, it does help your team if you yell at the television.

Q:  Where do you get your ideas?

A:  Anything can spark an idea.  I was cleaning out a drawer from a piece of furniture I had purchased and there was a little stain in it.  Of course, I assumed it was blood, that there had been a murder, I was wiping away valuable evidence…

Q:  What do you do about Writer’s Block?

A:  People ask me that a lot.  I can usually always write about something, just not necessarily what I’m supposed to be writing.  Keeping that flow going is important.  However, when you NEED to get something done, I have used music to set the mood in which I need to write.  Let’s say I was writing a scene about a hired killer.  I might pick “Dirty Deeds” by AC/DC to listen to, and then just play it over and over again til either  my brain exploded, or something came out of it in writing.

Q:  What, exactly, do you do for work now?

A:  I perform computer consulting services for a number of local companies, both on-site and via internet.

Q:  What kind of camera do you use?

A:  I have two Canon EOS Elans, with Canon lenses.

Q:  So, if I buy a Canon EOS Elan, I assume I can take pictures like you do?

A:  Yeah, so write that down.

Q:  What other celebrities have you met?

A:  Sting, Tony Roberts, Jeff Speakman, Johnny Unitas, Jude Cole, Dennis Chambers, Warren Murphy, Helen Chappell, Marty MacSorely, Michael Chiklis, Willie Mays, Christine Lavin, off the top of my head..
